Caught my eye

"Matisse como pretexto" by Manolo Valdés

My heart skipped a beat when I saw this painting, not least of all because I hoped it was a street art piece. I like how it emerges in all three dimensions, how rough its texture appears. And how these qualities contrast with the fluid grace of the female form portrayed. If I had €505 000 to spend on a whim... well, I probably wouldn't spend it all on this painting, but I'd consider it for a few minutes;)

  1. Wow, that is gorgeous. And I absolutely agree about it being so graffiti-like in its execution and texture. I really like it.
