The Ancient World with Bettany Hughes

I am addicted to this pop-sciency series! It titilates my historico-ethnic senses! Nothing too dry or "accurate", but with plenty of breathtaking landscape shots, and enough archeological findings and mythical narratives to make my imagination run wild! It's been a while since I last enquired into the lives of our ancients, and it makes me feel... nostalgic? Like a curious child? But with much more affinity for the abundant gruesome and sexy details:D
Also - Bettany, bless her. A fit hot articulated historian?! Well, the producers are sure milking it. Putting her in sexy red dresses, making her jump into the sea and speak to us in wet clothes , bangs of hair plastered against her tanned face... I'm not complaining!;) I'm just finishing "The Spartans"! So hot!XD "When the Moors Ruled in Europe" was really good too! I can't believe I've never been to Alhambra...

Watch it free on 4od if it lets you:)

  1. I do not need sexy red dresses to be lectured on antiquity, but I surely do not complain either...

Also I wouldn't be partial to a really old-school erudite with white wild hair and a bow tie:)

  3. As presenters go, those would have to be my two leading categories.

  4. Ironic to talk about Helen of Troy being being worshiped as a sexual godess while bathing in the bath of Helen with hard nipples in the sun, all I can say is wow!
